The Totteridge Classic
You could smell a storm brewing.
While strong winds pushed rainclouds across Western Pennsylvania, Andy Goss circled 3 birdies in the first 6 holes. This torrential barrage propelled his team to a tie for first with Ben Huber’s squad at -12 – a number that seemed far from reach when scoping the forecast on the first tee.
“Totteridge is not an easy golf course,” Nick Grabowski said. “Anything under 80 is nothing to shake a stick at.”
Tell that to Joey Brungo, who glided his way to his season’s best 78. A total of 5 net birdies helped guide he and Huber to that sparkling 60. It’s a shame that the clouds couldn’t retain their moisture any longer, preventing any chance of a playoff. Rest assured the field would’ve lined the slopes behind 18 green, pops and popcorn in hand.
We are grateful for everyone who came out on Father’s Day to the Totteridge Classic. A special thank you to the dads – we hope you enjoyed your time battling with some of Western Pennsylvania’s best.
